Jennifer Tissot- Director
Jennifer has dedicated her life mission to providing high quality programing to youth and adults in the special needs community. She believes in building a strong community and will continue to work hard building and growing the community. She has spent the last nine years working with the City of Charleston Recreation Department as a Recreation Specialist and as Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator. She attended the College of Charleston and received education and training in human services management, customer service, and psychology. Her special interests include working in her garden, theater, day trips hiking with her family, mystery novels and good food.
John Belissary – Owner
John serves as Administrator of New Generations Adult Day Center of Florence, New Generations Adult Day Center of Marion and New Generations Adult Day Center of Ridgeland. He currently serves on the South Carolina Alzheimer’s Board of Directors where he serves on the Finance Committee and is also Alzheimer’s Ambassador to Congressman Tom Rice. He serves as a member of the Implementation Leadership Council that was convened by the South Carolina Institute of Medicine and Public Health to create lasting improvements in South Carolina’s system of Long-Term Care Services. He has also served as President of the South Carolina Adult Day Services Association and currently serves on the South Carolina Adult Day Care Coalition. He served, at the request of South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services; on the Blue Ribbon panel for a federal initiative called Money Follows the Person and as a panelist on the Dual Eligible (DuE) grant that established PRIME. John collaborated with the University of South Carolina’s Office for the Study of Aging in the implementation of an innovative grant called Home Care.
Ann Belissary – Owner
Ann Belissary, John’s wife, is the office manager of New Generations Adult Day Center. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Converse College and a Master’s in Educational Counseling from the University of South Carolina, Columbia. Ann was also the office manager of New Generations Home Care, Inc. an in-home care business which was sold. Ann has over 11 years of experience in Adult Day, Community Long Term Care and Disabilities and Special Needs programs in South Carolina. Ann uses her training daily in dealing with families, clients and staff under stress. She is actively involved in educating state legislators on the value of home and community based services for the elderly and disabled citizens of South Carolina.
Byron C Yahnis – Owner
Byron was born in Charlotte, NC and raised in Florence, SC. He graduated from the University of South Carolina HRSM in 1983. He is now the President of the Yahnis Company, a beverage distributor that serves Florence, Sumter, and Myrtle Beach. Byron is Greek Orthodox and when given the time away from work he enjoys sports and being on the water. He is married to Gay Godwin Yahnis and they have two children, Charles who is 27 years old and Nichole who is 21 years old.
